The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has confirmed that Wednesday, May 28, 2025, marks the beginning of Dhul Hijjah, the final month in the Islamic calendar.

This means Eid Al Adha—one of the most significant holidays in the Muslim world—will fall on Friday, June 6, 2025, corresponding to the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, 1446 AH.

5-day Eid Al Adha holiday confirmed for public sector

According to a decision by the Council of Ministers, the Eid Al Adha holiday will last five days, starting from Thursday, June 5 (9 Dhul Hijjah) until Monday, June 9 (13 Dhul Hijjah).

The update comes as part of a new Cabinet Resolution No. (18) of 2025, which amends parts of the 2008 resolution outlining official public holidays in the country.

The revised public holiday list for government offices, ministries, and public institutions now includes:

  • Eid Al Fitr: From the 28th of Ramadan to the 4th of Shawwal
