Qatar’s weather is about to shift again as strong northwesterly winds are expected to return this Friday, May 16, according to the Qatar Meteorology Department. The gusts are expected to continue into the start of next week.

Dusty Conditions and Low Visibility

These winds are likely to stir up dust across several areas, reducing horizontal visibility—especially in open and exposed places. Residents are advised to be cautious while driving and limit outdoor activities when dust levels rise.

Marine Warnings in Effect

Alongside the dusty weather, marine warnings will also be in place. The strong winds are expected to create rough sea conditions, so fishing, boating, and beach trips should be avoided during this period.
