Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five World Final Concludes in Qatar

Brazil had a fantastic night at the 2022 Red Bull Neymar Jr.'s Five World Final in Qatar on Tuesday evening, with two of the country's five-a-side teams winning the mixed and women's titles. Their prize was a match against their country's footballing star, Neymar Jr.

"I really liked how they played," remarked Neymar Jr, who watched both finals. "Of course, I was supporting Brazil." I've always been a fan of Brazil, and I'm glad the championship is returning home."

The unique world final this year was held in Qatar Foundation's Education City. The cutting-edge Ceremonial Court was turned into a series of five-a-side courts ready for champions. Players and their teams had the opportunity to outperform them all while being supported by hundreds of football fans in enormous grandstands.

Alexandra Chalat, Community Engagement and Activation Director at Qatar Foundation said: "Hosting the Red Bull Neymar Jr.'s Five World Final 2022 at Education City was a lovely opportunity to welcome many people from across the world to Qatar." In a year like this, we are thrilled to be able to employ football as a communal hub for physical exercise and cultural knowledge."

After losing 5-0 to fellow Brazilians Resenha 013 in the first-ever derby match in this tournament on Monday, the women of Fortal Balls were able to revenge that loss in a thrilling final against the same opponent. After a close and suspenseful goalless match, the champions were decided in a one-on-one shootout, with Fortal Balls ultimately directing the winner from distance.

“It’s a dream come true. I know we won, but the feeling hasn’t hit yet,” said their captain, Francesca Ferrari Fayad. “We came all the way from Brazil to conquer this competition and we’re so psyched. Now it’s time to party.”

In the mixed division, fellow Brazilians Consagrados beat the tough challenge of MrM Sport Coaching from the Netherlands in an equally spectacular way. After nine action-packed but goalless minutes, the Netherlands took the lead with just seconds left, before Consagrados secured a shootout with a late equalizer. The Brazilians won the shootout with a quickfire winner directly from the kickoff.

After personally awarding the trophies to the winners, Neymar Jr. welcomed both teams back onto the pitch for a competition against him and his colleagues. During the two Super Finals, the Brazilian striker stunned the crowd, including special guest and quadruple Dakar race winner Nasser Al-Attiyah, with his finest maneuvers and trademark goals.

57 teams had traveled to Doha for the 2022 Red Bull Neymar Jr.'s Five World Final, each seeking to outperform the others in the competition's fast-paced footballing style - there are no goalkeepers, and every time a team scores, the opponent loses a player. Matches take 10 minutes, or until one side loses all five of its players.

The Brazilian superstar will now shift his attention to a new season with Paris-Saint-Germain before returning to Qatar for the World Cup with his national team in November.
