Qatar to Accept Applications for Over 3,500 Free, Discounted Private School Seats

If you know families stressing over school fees, here’s some good news.

Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced that applications for free and discounted private school and kindergarten seats will open on January 20, 2026, through its official website.

The offer is part of the ministry’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, first launched in December 2025 to make private education more accessible to deserving families.

Over 3,500 Seats Available

The program will provide more than 3,500 placements across participating private schools and kindergartens. Once accepted, students can keep their seats until graduation, which takes some long-term pressure off families.

Multiple Curricula to Choose From

Families won’t be limited to one education system. Participating schools offer a range of curricula, including:

  • National

  • American

  • British

  • Indian

This gives parents more flexibility to choose what works best for their children.

Who Can Apply

The program covers different types of support, from fully free seats to discounted options. Here’s how eligibility breaks down:

  • Free seats: Family income must not exceed QR 10,000

  • Discounted seats: Family income must not exceed QR 15,000

  • Education voucher seats for Qatari students: Family income must not exceed QR 25,000

There are also free seats for students with disabilities, along with fully free evening classes offered by some schools.

A Push for Equal Access to Education

According to the ministry, the goal of the initiative is simple: support families who need it most and give students equal access to quality education, regardless of income.

Applications open January 20, 2026, and spots are limited — so eligible families may want to move fast.
