Souq Waqif to Host Mango Exhibition on This Date

Visitors to Souq Waqif can expect a sweet addition to their summer experiences starting June 18, as the historic marketplace prepares to host the third edition of the Hamba Indian Mango Exhibition and Its Products.

Organized by the Celebrations Committee of the Private Engineering Office in partnership with the Indian Embassy in Qatar, the event will run for ten consecutive days through June 27 at Souq Waqif's Eastern Square. Daily operating hours span from late afternoon into the evening, welcoming families throughout the period.

Following two prior editions that established the gathering as a prominent seasonal attraction in the Gulf region, organizers anticipate even stronger attendance this year. Last year's exhibition drew over 114,000 visitors who purchased more than 130 kilograms of mangoes across 54 different varieties available at the time.

This installment expands significantly with participation from over 35 major Indian companies, an increase from 30 exhibitors in the previous edition. The additional presence reflects growing commercial interest among Indian businesses seeking access to consumers in Qatar and neighboring markets.

A fully climate-controlled tent spanning roughly 100 meters by 30 meters has been constructed specifically for the event, ensuring comfortable conditions despite peak summer temperatures. Organizers spent more than four months preparing the venue alongside coordination with relevant authorities and the Indian Embassy.

Attendees will encounter fresh mangoes alongside a wide assortment of value-added products including preserves, confections, traditional desserts, and authentic regional cuisine. Several new mango varieties will make their debut in Qatar, offering local consumers options not previously available in the market.

Mangoes have earned international recognition as one of the world's most popular fruits, supporting diverse food industry applications reflected in the varied product range at this exhibition. As Qatar continues developing its appeal as a cultural and tourism destination during summer holidays, such specialty events contribute to the growing seasonal calendar.

The combination of expanded vendor participation, diversified offerings, and newly introduced varieties positions this year's edition as potentially the largest since the event's initial launch three years ago.
