Qatar Reveals 2025-2028 School Calendar With More Breaks

Qatar’s Ministry of Education just rolled out a fresh school calendar for 2025 to 2028—and it’s looking pretty student-friendly. The changes aim to give students and families a better balance between study and life, with more breaks and smarter exam schedules.

Mid-Year Break Shifts to December

One of the biggest changes? The mid-year break now falls in late December. This syncs up holidays across public and private schools, making it easier for families to plan vacations and time off together.

Exams Before National Day, Ramadan Break Extended

Students will now take first-semester finals before National Day, giving them the chance to fully join in the celebrations. Plus, no more exams during Ramadan—students and teachers get two extra days off during the holy month to focus on worship and family.

High Schoolers Get ‘Test Day, Rest Day’ System

For second-semester finals, high schoolers will have a new "Test Day - Rest Day" setup. This means one day of exams, one day off to recharge and study. The goal? Less stress, better grades.

Bonus: Post-Exam Long Weekends

After midterm exams in the second semester, all students can look forward to a sweet extended weekend break. The Ministry says this is part of supporting student well-being.

A Balanced School Year

The Ministry says the calendar keeps learning on track while still making room for family time, national celebrations, and mental wellness—fully aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030’s goal of nurturing future-ready minds.
