Qatar has ample reserves of water and food, officials say, easing concerns over potential supply disruptions from the Iranian blockade on the Strait of Hormuz.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Thani, Qatar’s interior minister, confirmed that the country maintains strategic water reserves sufficient for several months.

He also said Qatar has food reserves that can last for around 18 months, providing a buffer against regional supply risks.
