Iran's Mojtaba Khamenei Vows Revenge for Father's Killing

Mojtaba Khamenei has officially vowed to seek revenge against the United States and Israel following the death of his father, the former Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei.

The late leader Ali Khamenei lost his life in an airstrike on February 28, marking a major turning point at the beginning of the military conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran.

Official Statement Broadcast on State Television

In a written statement shared on state television, the son of the late Supreme Leader expressed his determination to seek justice.

"Revenge is the demand of the nation and must certainly be carried out," the statement from Mojtaba Khamenei read.

He continued to emphasize Iran's position, stating, "We ⁠pledge to avenge the blood of the martyred leader and all ‌the martyrs of these two wars ⁠from the criminal and disgraced killers." He also noted that the nation's "vengeance" was "inevitable."

National Funerals and Current Status

This statement comes as the country observed several days of funeral ceremonies to pay respects to the late Supreme Leader.

Meanwhile, Mojtaba Khamenei has not made any public appearances since the airstrike in late February. Reports from US officials suggest that he may have sustained severe injuries during the same attack.
