Qatar Praised by UN as Major Partner in Gaza Humanitarian and Diplomatic Efforts

The United Nations has hailed Qatar as a trusted regional partner, pointing to its active role in ceasefire talks, hostage negotiations, and pushing for humanitarian aid into Gaza.

Backed by serious funding

According to UN Humanitarian Chief Tom Fletcher, Qatar’s efforts aren’t just about words—it’s also about money. In 2025 alone, Qatar poured more than $410 million into global humanitarian response efforts, supporting UN agencies, NGOs, and Red Crescent groups.

Stronger ties with the UN

Since opening a UN humanitarian office in Doha in 2023, cooperation with Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, Qatar Fund for Development, Qatar Charity, and Qatar Airways has only grown stronger.

Why it matters

With global aid funding dropping sharply this year, Qatar’s support is seen as both generous and strategic, helping keep life-saving programs afloat at a time when resources are stretched thin.
