Qatar Arrests Individuals for Insulting a Female Citizen on Twitter

Qatar's Public Prosecution ordered the arrest of some individuals who racially discriminated a female citizen for her sports achievement on Twitter.

Information about the female athelete has not been revealed, but it is known she represented Qatar during an international tournament.

The culprits were arrested and investigated after their pretrial detention was ordered.

The prosecution shared that actions deemed contrary to public interest, which includes provoking racial hatred.

The prosecution has shared that threatening and slandering an individual can result in imprisonment and the culprit will also be fined.
