Qatar Airways Partners with Michelin-Star Filipino Chefs for New Business Class Menu

Flying Business Class from Manila just got a serious upgrade. Qatar Airways has teamed up with Michelin One-Star Filipino chefs Jordy and May Navarra to launch a new, exclusive menu inspired by modern Filipino cuisine—and it’s landing on flights from Manila to Doha starting February 2.

If you’re flying the other way, take note: the same menu will roll out on Doha–Manila routes beginning July 2026.

Michelin-Star Filipino Food, 30,000 Feet Up

The menu is created by Chef Jordy Navarra, the mind behind Toyo Eatery, Manila’s Michelin One-Star restaurant. Together with his wife May, he brings a five-course Business Class experience that puts familiar Filipino flavors into a refined, fine-dining format—without losing their soul.

Think comfort food, but dressed for Business Class.

What’s on the Menu

Passengers can expect a curated lineup that highlights Filipino ingredients and techniques, sourced with sustainability and seasonality in mind.

Here’s what’s being served:

  • Appetizer: Seared chilled scallops with mustard leaf, shrimp buro, radish, and salted egg

  • Main Course: Braised beef short ribs tiyula itum with charred coconut, eggplant, and heirloom Tinawon rice

  • Light Option: Pansit noodle ensalada with chayote and pomelo

  • Breakfast: Purée of arroz caldo with chicken, anchovy, and egg

  • Dessert: Sans rival cake paired with Philippine chocolate sorbet

Yes, sans rival at cruising altitude.

Another Win for Qatar Airways’ Business Class

This collaboration adds to Qatar Airways’ long list of in-flight flexes. The airline was named World’s Best Business Class for the 11th time in 2024 and also took home World’s Best Airline for a record eighth time the same year.

With flights to over 170 destinations via Hamad International Airport—also repeatedly crowned the World’s Best Airport—Qatar Airways continues to double down on premium experiences that go beyond just legroom.

For Filipino travelers (and food lovers in general), this menu is one more reason to look forward to the flight, not just the destination.
