Having a passport confers some degree of power regardless of where you are from. Travel is made possible by passports, but they also offer other significant advantages. Strong passports can open doors to improved living and working situations, as well as to economic and educational prospects. Nevertheless, not every passport is made equally. In simple terms, some passports have more power than others.

According to the most recent Henley Passport Index, which Japan leads for a sixth straight year, the country has maintained its position as having the most advantageous passport in the world, allowing visa-free entry to 193 international destinations.

The United Arab Emirates ranks 15 on the list with Liechtenstein with visa-free entry to 178 nations followed by Turkiye with the 52nd rank on the Passport index. Turkiye passport permits visa-free entry to 110 countries.

  • Kuwait - Rank 57 - Visa-free entry to 97 Global Destinations.
  • Bahrain - Rank 63 - Visa-free entry to 87 Global Destinations.
  • Oman - Rank 65 - Visa-free entry to 87 Global Destinations.
  • Saudi Arabia - Rank 65 - Visa-free entry to 87 Global Destinations.
  • Egypt - Rank 90 - Visa-free entry to 53 Global Destinations.
  • Jordan - Rank 90 - Visa-free entry to 53 Global Destinations.
  • Iran - Rank 99 - Visa-free entry to 43 Global Destinations.
  • Lebanon - Rank 100 - Visa-free entry to 42 Global Destinations.
  • Palestinian Territory - Rank 103 - Visa-free entry to 38 Global Destinations.
  • Yemen - Rank 105 - Visa-free entry to 34 Global Destinations.
  • Syria - Rank 107 - Visa-free entry to 30 Global Destinations.
  • Iraq- Rank 108 - Visa-free entry to 29 Global Destinations.

This index has been created over the course of 18 years by Henley & Partners. The rating for 2023 shows the biggest difference between the top-ranking and bottom-ranked passports ever.
