A Woman Fined $1,200 for Carrying Rose on Qatar to Australia Flight

A woman known as @skywardsfreak on Instagram was flying from Doha, Qatar to Perth, Australia. While at the airport lounge in Qatar, she was given a rose. Yes, a literal rose flower.

The woman dressed as Barbie, was flying from Doha, Qatar to Perth, Australia. She was given a rose at the airport lounge in Qatar.

However, she failed to declare the rose to Australian authorities. As you know, some authorities can be very strict about bringing in plants from other countries. The woman was escorted by officials to an immigration security office.

The woman was escorted to the x-ray machine, where her bag was inspected item by item. She was not nervous, as she had nothing to hide.

She had gotten off the plane with a rose in her hand that she had received at the Qatar Airways lounge in Doha. She loves airlines and often keeps mementos from them, such as dried flowers. She stressed that she made the decision to take the rose with her and that it was not the airline's fault.

The officials accused her of knowingly providing false or misleading information on the biosecurity form, which is a violation of the biosecurity law. She was given a document stating that she had committed a civil offense and would be fined 1,878 AUD (about $1,200) which she had to pay before she was allowed to leave the country.
