Report: Trump’s Gulf Visit to Include High-Stakes Summit

US President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE starting May 13. The trip will kick off in Riyadh, where Trump is expected to attend a high-level summit with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) leaders.

The summit will focus on strengthening ties between the US and Gulf states, with discussions set to cover security cooperation, investments, arms deals, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.

GCC summit in Riyadh to headline US-Gulf relations

The main highlight of Trump’s visit will be a summit with GCC leaders in the Saudi capital. US officials say Trump plans to outline his administration’s vision for its role in the Middle East and explain America’s strategic goals in the region. There are also reports of inviting other Arab leaders for a broader meeting during the summit.

The US president’s engagement aims to rebuild and reshape cooperation with Gulf allies, especially in light of global shifts in energy, defense, and tech.

AI, defense, and investment top the agenda

Apart from diplomatic discussions, Trump’s visit will also dive into key bilateral matters with each country. According to reports by Axios, the talks will include plans for arms sales, tech partnerships—especially around AI—and boosting US investments in Gulf economies.

After Saudi Arabia, Trump will head to Doha to meet with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, then proceed to Abu Dhabi on May 15 for talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed.
