Qatar Braces for Dusty Days as Strong Winds Sweep in

Get ready for a breezy and blurry week ahead. Qatar's Meteorology Department (QMD) has issued a strong wind and dust advisory starting Tuesday, May 6, with gusty northwesterly winds expected to sweep across the country.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), QMD announced that winds will range from fresh to strong, continuing through the end of the week. The blustery conditions are likely to stir up dust, especially in open areas, which could lead to low visibility on roads and hazardous marine conditions.

"Horizontal visibility may drop in some areas due to rising dust," warned the department, adding that marine warnings will remain in place during this period.

So if you're heading outdoors, especially for long drives or sea outings, keep your plans flexible — and maybe pack some goggles just in case.

Stay tuned to the official QMD channels for real-time updates and safety tips as the week unfolds.
