Bangladesh Declares July 22 Mourning Day After Jet Crash Kills 27

Tuesday, July 22, has been declared a national day of mourning in Bangladesh after a military jet crashed into a school building in Dhaka the day before, killing at least 27 people and injuring over 170. It's being called the country’s worst aviation disaster in decades.

What Happened

The crash occurred during what was supposed to be a routine Air Force training flight. The military says the aircraft had a mechanical failure and the pilot tried to steer away from populated areas—but unfortunately, the plane hit Milestone School and College, a two-storey building in the capital.
