The US military has announced that it is stepping up safety measures for personnel stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base in Abu Dhabi, after Iran launched a missile attack targeting the US military’s Al Udeid base in Qatar on Monday night.

In a statement, the United States Air Forces Central Command (AFCENT) confirmed it is “taking the appropriate precautions to safeguard our Airmen from any threat to life and safety.”

Operational details not disclosed

While acknowledging the increased security posture, AFCENT did not provide specifics about troop movements or military assets, citing operational security. “We cannot provide details about the deployment of aircraft, personnel, or capabilities,” the statement added.

UAE condemns Iran’s strike on Qatar

In response to the missile attack, the UAE strongly condemned Iran’s targeting of Al Udeid Air Base, calling it a clear violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and a breach of international law and UN regulations.

The UAE reiterated its full rejection of any actions that put the safety and stability of Qatar—and the wider region—at risk.
