Meteorology Department Warns of Thunder, Rain, and Strong Winds
Unsettled weather expected across Qatar with thundery showers, gusty winds, and reduced visibility.
The Qatar Meteorology Department has issued a weather alert warning of thundery rain, strong winds, and rough sea conditions across the country in the coming days.
According to the latest forecast, conditions in Doha and surrounding areas are expected to range from partly cloudy to cloudy, with scattered rain that may turn thundery at times. The alert highlights the likelihood of unstable weather, particularly during nighttime and early morning hours.
Wind speeds are forecast to vary between 5 and 15 knots inshore, with gusts reaching up to 25 knots during thunderstorms. Offshore areas are expected to experience stronger winds of up to 20 knots, with gusts exceeding 26 knots, contributing to high sea conditions.
Authorities have also warned that visibility may drop significantly, potentially below 3 kilometers, during periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms, posing risks for motorists and marine activity.
Additional forecasts indicate that the unsettled weather pattern could persist through midweek, with light to moderate rainfall intensifying at times between March 23 and March 25.
Residents are advised to exercise caution, particularly in coastal and offshore areas, and to stay updated through official weather channels as conditions evolve.
