The UAE has been declared as an independent sovereign and federal state on the 2nd of December 1971 comprising of seven emirates; Abu Dhabi as the capital, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah.
Looking back, the UAE was just a desert and compared it to now, it is a tourist attraction filled with modernity, and a home to many.

- 1971
The UAE has been declared as a new federal state.
- 1973
The dirham has been introduced as the UAE’s currency.
- 1982
Abu Dhabi international airport begins operating.
- 1985
Emirates airline launched.
- 1999
Burj Al Arab hotel introduced and launched in Dubai.
- 2009
Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum launches the Dubai Metro.
- 2010
Burj Khalifa introduced and opens in Dubai.
- 2013
UAE celebrates the winning bid to host Expo 2020 in Dubai.
- 2014
UAE announces the creation of the UAE Space Agency to supervise the Mars Mission.
- 2018
The first satellite built on UAE reaches space.
- 2019
UAE marks history with the launch of Hazzaa Al Mansoori to space.
