The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) in Qatar has stopped an unauthorized Hajj and Umrah campaign that was operating without official permission. The office, which had recently launched, was found to be in violation of the country’s religious travel regulations and has now been referred to legal authorities.

Public Safety and Legal Compliance Come First

According to Awqaf, the campaign was operating outside the official system, which could put the safety of pilgrims at risk. Authorities stressed that these actions go against regulations and that only approved offices are allowed to organize pilgrimages.

This move is part of Qatar’s ongoing support for Saudi Arabia’s efforts to keep the annual Hajj safe and organized, especially under the "No Hajj Without a Permit" rule, which ensures that only registered pilgrims travel to the holy sites.

Hajj and Umrah Offices Under Regular Inspection

Awqaf’s Department of Hajj and Umrah Affairs conducts regular inspections of offices to make sure all operators follow the law. These checks confirm whether businesses have the proper licenses and take legal steps when violations are found.

Citizens Urged to Book Through Official Channels

The ministry warned the public not to deal with unlicensed companies, which could result in problems for those performing Hajj or Umrah. Instead, people should register through one of the 17 approved Hajj campaigns listed on the department’s official website: https://www.hajj.gov.qa.

There is also a list of licensed offices allowed to arrange Umrah trips. The ministry emphasized that using authorized services protects the rights of pilgrims and ensures smooth and safe travel to Saudi Arabia.
