In a statement, the Anti-Smuggling and Harmful Trade Practices Department confirmed that the illegal drugs were discovered inside a shipment of audio speakers that had arrived at the port. The narcotics were carefully concealed within the internal crevices of the devices in an effort to evade detection.
Customs officers identified the shipment during inspection procedures and carried out a detailed examination, which led to the discovery of the concealed substances. The seizure forms part of Qatar Customs’ ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and protect the country from the risks posed by narcotics and illicit trade.
Officials reiterated their commitment to strengthening border security and enhancing inspection mechanisms at ports of entry, while working closely with relevant authorities to curb smuggling operations and safeguard public safety.
