The military planners of Iran are aware that it would be so hard to defeat the United States in a conventional war. American military has much more advanced aircrafts, ships and technology. Due to such an imbalance, Iranian approach is taken in another direction. The intention of the plan is to make the conflict a long-range war in several different locations making it more expensive and difficult on the United States and allies instead of attempting to win the war faster by simply engaging the enemy in a direct confrontation.
