Iran Says It Targeted Strategic Sites in Tel Aviv and Haifa Using Advanced Drones as Tensions with Israel Escalate
Iran claimed on Tuesday, June 17, that it had attacked and destroyed "strategic positions" in Tel Aviv, Israel, using advanced drones, according to AFP.
The country made this claim as cross-border attacks continued between the two countries for a fifth consecutive day, after Israel launched the first attack on Tehran on Friday, June 13.
The commander of the Iranian army's ground forces, General Kioumars Heidari, announced on state television that Iran had struck important locations in Tel Aviv and Haifa using drones "equipped with precise destruction and targeting capabilities”.
Iran's Ham Mihan newspaper also reported two explosions in the northwestern city of Tabriz on Tuesday. The city is home to an air force base, which was recently targeted by Israeli forces.

U.S. President Donald Trump ordered civilians to evacuate Tehran, hinting at a new assault from Israel in a post on the Truth Social platform.
Iran's claimed attack follows Israel's attack on the headquarters of the country's state TV on Monday, June 16. The state broadcaster confirmed on Tuesday that three employees were killed in the attack and others were injured.
