The UAE is investing more money in helping the country rain. Researchers are now using drones and electric shock technology to help make it rain.

Alya Al-Mazroui, director of the UAE’s rain-enhancement science-research program, explains the science behind the project.

“Equipped with a payload of electric-charge emission instruments and customised sensors, these drones will fly at low altitudes and deliver an electric charge to air molecules, which should encourage precipitation.”

The testing is taking place over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for any falling rain.
