'Wednesday Season 2' Filming Locations Revealed — And It's Even Spookier

Wednesday Addams is back with more murder, mystery, and monsters — and this time, she’s doing it all in a brand-new location. While Season 1 of Wednesday was filmed in Romania, the second season moves production to Ireland, giving the show a fresh but still eerie vibe.

Here’s a full breakdown of all the real-life locations behind the show’s creepy halls and haunted forests.

Nevermore Academy Found a New Home at Charleville Castle

Forget Romania’s Cantacuzino Castle — Nevermore Academy’s new setting is Charleville Castle in County Offaly, Ireland. The gothic castle fits the show's spooky tone perfectly.

Wednesday season 2

To match last season’s school gates and surrounding woods, the crew even found a private estate in County Wicklow that had nearly identical trees — literally one tree was in the exact same spot as in Romania. No CGI needed.

Newark Airport Scenes Were Filmed at Trinity Business School

Wednesday season 2 (Trinity College Dublin)

In Episode 1, Wednesday passes through “Newark Airport” — but filming didn’t actually take place in a real airport. Instead, the production team recreated the terminal at Trinity Business School in Dublin. They turned the building’s real-life security desk into an airline check-in area so convincingly, even people working there were fooled.

The Kansas City Scalper’s House Is Actually in County Wicklow

Wednesday season 2

The suburban home of the Kansas City Scalper (yes, that’s a real character) was filmed in Newcastle, a small town in County Wicklow. The crew had to dirty things up, giving houses worn paint jobs and scruffy lawns to create that lived-in look. Filming kicked off here on Day One, with locals excited to see the production roll in.

Camp Jericho and Cemetery Scenes Shot at Powerscourt Estate

Wednesday season 2

Behind the scenes of Netflix

The beautiful — and slightly creepy — Powerscourt House plays a major role in Season 2. It hosted scenes like Camp Jericho (in Episode 3), cemetery shots, and more. You’ll even spot the famous Powerscourt Waterfall, the second highest in Ireland, in the background.

Powerscourt is no stranger to the camera. Films like Excalibur, Little Women, and Cocaine Bear also filmed here.

Pugsley’s Zombie Shed Was Filmed at Clermont House

Wednesday season 2

Pugsley’s zombie-raising side story takes place in a run-down shack on school grounds — and that shack was built at Clermont House in Rathnew, another historic Irish estate. The location also hosted hospital scenes and a press conference setup.

Morticia’s Cottage Was Created Using a Miniature in the Woods

Wednesday season 2

Morticia Addams’ eerie new home, Rotwood Cottage, wasn’t built full-size. While the inside was filmed at Ashford Studios, the outside shots used a miniature model placed deep in Cloragh Woods to create a surreal, spooky look from the outside.

Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital Filmed at Clonliffe College

GAA discuss plans to develop new facility on grounds of Clonliffe College - Dublin Live

The psychiatric hospital where Tyler Galpin ends up? That’s Clonliffe College, a former priest-training college in Dublin’s Drumcondra neighborhood. With big gothic hallways and heavy architecture, it was the perfect double for a creepy asylum.

Ashford Studios Handles the Big Interior Sets

Wednesday season 2

Plenty of the show’s most detailed sets — from Rotwood Cottage interiors to Pilgrim World, Professor Orloff’s lab, and the Founders Pyre — were built at Ashford Studios in County Wicklow. With four massive sound stages and big backlots, it was the main creative playground for the crew.

Why Ireland?

So, why the move from Romania to Ireland? Showrunner Miles Millar said it best: “We have incredible woods; we have beautiful castles; we have the lush greens, the gray skies… there’s something magical about the light.” In short, Ireland had all the moody, misty energy Wednesday needed.
