Saudi Arabia and Gulf States Condemn Iran’s Attack on Qatar

In a strong show of unity, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have condemned Iran’s recent missile attack on the State of Qatar. The strike, which targeted Al Udeid Air Base, was described as a clear violation of international law, Qatar’s sovereignty, and the spirit of regional cooperation.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs labeled the attack a “flagrant violation of international law and the principles of good neighborliness,” stressing that such aggression is unjustifiable under any circumstances. The Kingdom reaffirmed its full solidarity with Qatar and pledged to support all measures Qatar deems necessary to protect its security.

The UAE echoed these sentiments, issuing a firm condemnation of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s actions. The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the attack a “blatant violation” of Qatar’s sovereignty and a threat to regional stability. The ministry emphasized its unwavering support for Qatar and urged immediate de-escalation to avoid worsening the situation.

Oman also voiced deep concern, highlighting the broader context of regional tension that began with Israel’s strike on Iran on June 13. The Omani Foreign Ministry denounced Iran’s missile strike on Qatar as a threat to Gulf unity and security. It urged all parties to halt military actions and return to diplomatic dialogue to prevent further damage and instability.

Bahrain joined the chorus of condemnation, calling the attack a breach of international law and expressing its firm support for Qatar. In its official statement, Bahrain underscored the importance of unity among GCC nations and called for restraint and peaceful resolution.

Kuwait’s foreign ministry condemned the missile strike as a “flagrant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and airspace.” The ministry expressed full backing for Qatar’s right to defend itself and pledged its readiness to support the country through all necessary means.

GCC Secretary General Jassim Albudaiwi issued a strong statement declaring the Iranian attack a direct threat to the security of all Gulf states. He reiterated the GCC’s unified stance with Qatar and emphasized that the region’s security is indivisible. Albudaiwi criticized Iran for launching such an attack at a time when GCC nations are pushing for peace and mediation in the region.

He also called on the international community and the UN Security Council to step in, condemn the aggression, and take effective measures to deter further Iranian provocations.

As tensions rise, Gulf states are making it clear that any threat to one is a threat to all. Their united stance sends a powerful message, regional security, sovereignty, and peace must not be compromised.
