Marcos Urges Filipinos Abroad to Vote in 2025 Elections

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is encouraging Filipinos abroad to make their voices count by voting online in the upcoming 2025 national elections.

In a video message, he stressed the importance of using the right to vote and choosing candidates who genuinely care for the country. “Let’s pick leaders with integrity, compassion, and the ability to serve,” he said in Filipino. “Together, we can build a better Philippines.”

Voting Made Easier for Overseas Filipinos

The President highlighted how digital voting now makes it simpler for Filipinos abroad to participate. “Wherever you are in the world, you no longer have to line up or travel to vote,” he said. “With online voting, you can cast your ballot quickly, safely, and securely.”

Pre-Enrollment Now Open on COMELEC Portal

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has started pre-enrollment for the 2025 elections via the COMELEC Voting Portal, which went live on March 20, 2025.

Overseas voting will officially take place from April 13 to May 12, 2025. Voting will close at 3:00 PM (Dubai time) and 7:00 PM (Philippine time) on the final day.

To encourage participation, May 12 has been declared a special non-working holiday under Proclamation No. 878, giving Filipinos time to cast their votes.

A Call to Help Shape the Nation’s Future

President Marcos ended his message by reminding overseas Filipinos that voting is their chance to help decide the country’s future. “Your vote matters. Let’s build a new Philippines together,” he said.
