GCC Activates Emergency Centre Amid Israel-Iran Conflict

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has activated its Emergency Management Centre following the recent conflict between Israel and Iran. While there’s no immediate threat to the region, the move is a precautionary step to monitor any possible risks tied to the escalating situation.

No Current Danger, Just Full Readiness

GCC Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi said that all technical indicators remain normal and there’s no cause for public concern at the moment. The full alert status is simply to maintain preparedness across the Gulf.

He explained that the emergency centre is actively tracking environmental and radiological conditions in coordination with authorities in member states. Early warning systems are also in place to ensure quick response if anything changes.

Why It Matters

The precaution comes amid fears that any further military action—especially targeting nuclear facilities—could impact the environment, supply chains, trade routes, and even energy movement. There are also concerns over the safety of critical waterways in the Gulf region.

To stay ahead of any fallout, technical reports and updates are being issued in real-time to keep member countries informed.

Gulf Countries Urge Restraint

The GCC has strongly condemned the military escalation, pointing to the failure of diplomatic efforts between the parties. Albudaiwi emphasized that the GCC is built on regional solidarity and aims to help avoid conflicts that could disrupt both the Gulf and global stability.

“We urge all countries involved to step back, avoid military action, and prevent the situation from spiraling into a wider crisis,” he said.
