‘Eternal Love’ Star Yu Menglong Passes Away at 37

Chinese actor-singer Yu Menglong has passed away after falling from a Beijing flat, with police ruling out foul play.

Yu Menglong, best known for his role in the hit fantasy-romance drama Eternal Love, died on Sept 11 at age 37. His management confirmed the news in a Weibo post, saying he “fell to his death” and asked fans to let him rest in peace. Police have ruled out criminal involvement.

The Night Before
According to reports, Yu had dinner with friends on Sept 10 at a Beijing residence. Around 2 a.m., he went into a bedroom to rest and locked the door. By 6 a.m., his friends found him on the ground floor, after a neighbor walking his dog alerted the police. Witnesses said he had fallen around 5 a.m., and the flat’s window mesh was broken.
His Career
Yu started out as a singer, joining a talent show in 2007 and releasing his first single in 2013. But acting quickly became his main path. He debuted in The Little Prince (2011) and gained recognition as the ninth prince in Go Princess Go (2015). His breakout came with Eternal Love (2017), where he played the charming fourth son of the Fox King. He also starred in Hidden Master (2024) and the TV adaptation of Legend of the White Snake (2019).
