The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has announced that the Al Zubarah star will rise on 20 September 2025, ushering in 13 days of milder nighttime weather across the country.

The period will also bring accompanying northeastern to northwestern winds, offering some relief from the summer heat.

Al Zubarah is the third star of the Suhail constellation, the second star of autumn, and the third of the Safri stars, traditionally observed across the Arabian Peninsula as seasonal indicators.

According to QMD, this phase coincides with the autumnal equinox, when daylight and nighttime hours are equal. Afterward, nighttime hours will gradually lengthen, signaling the official transition into cooler months.

The annual appearance of Al Zubarah is considered a significant weather marker in Qatar, guiding agricultural practices, fishing activities, and cultural traditions tied to seasonal change.
