Geekdom, the largest pop culture festival in Qatar, will be presented at the Doha Film Experience from December 3 through December 16 at the Geekdom Building in Lusail Boulevard.

Geekdom has relocated its celebration of all things nerdy to Lusail Boulevard with daily passes available on a first-come, first-served basis for QR10. The event is set to bring out the inner geek in everyone.

Geekdom will feature a day to celebrate cosplay, nerve-wracking video game tournaments, screenings of renowned films, fun karaoke nights, and an electrifying concert for Ajyal Tunes Geekdom Night, providing a platform for all geeks to share their passion for pop culture and allowing every visitor to experience events that engage and inspire.

The Geekdom Gallery will include a unique collection of pop culture memorabilia assembled by Qatar-based collectors, and an artists' and sellers' alley will feature the works of regional and local artists for keen collectors. The most well-liked card and board games, manga reading events, regular video game competitions, and board game reading sessions can all be found in the Geekdom Lounge.

The Super Smash Bros. tournament is another video game competition that will bring together the finest of the best in the industry, along with FIFA 23 | Overwatch 2.

Among other games, Ultimate - Doubles includes League of Legends, Guilty Gear Strive, Street Fighter V, King of Fighters XV, Tekken 7, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Singles. There will also be discussions, anime music videos, children's cosplay contests, and a number of workshops.

The first Geekdom showing will be Lilo & Stitch (USA/2002), which was directed by Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders. Other films screening are Only Yesterday (Japan/2022) by Isao Takahata; Hercules (USA/1997) by Ron Clements and John Musker; Spirited Away (Japan/2005) by Hayao Miyazaki; The Secret World of Arrietty (Japan/2010) by Hiromasa Yonebayashi; Lupin III The First (Japan/2020) by Takashi Yamazaki; Guardians of the Galaxy (USA/2014) by James Gunn; Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (USA/1977) by George Lucas; Mulan (USA/1998) by Barry Cook and Tony Bancroft; Mulan II (USA/2004) by Darrell Rooney; Batman Returns (USA/1992) by Tim Burton; The Dark Knight Rises (USA/2012) by Christopher Nolan; and Weathering with You (Japan/2019) by Makoto Shinkai.

The diverse subjects of this year's Geekdom Talks, which include How to Create Your OC, Creating Anime Content: How to Go Viral on Social Media, and more, are sure to excite attendees. Cosplaying 101, the chance of gaming and eSports, techniques to advance, and much more.

On December 11, the Geekdom Shorts Program will also feature a number of short films that are all from Qatar. These include Topaz Duo: Cosmic Phoenix (Qatar/2012) by Ben Robinson, Ruqya (Qatar/2010) by Fahad Al-Kuwari, and Qarar (Qatar/2014) and I (Qatar/2012) both by Ali Al Anssari. The spectacular ending ceremony of the Ajyal Tunes Geekdom Night will take place at Qatar Foundation's Oxygen Park on December 16 and feature performances by a number of renowned artists from Qatar.
