The announcement came after the company earlier confirmed it had stopped producing LNG and related products.

What Happened
According to the state-run firm, the attacks disrupted operations at two major sites, bringing LNG output to a standstill.
That’s a serious development, considering Qatar is one of the world’s top LNG exporters.
What “Force Majeure” Means
Force majeure is a legal clause in contracts. It basically says that if something extraordinary and uncontrollable happens — like attacks, natural disasters, or major disruptions — a company can pause its contractual obligations without facing penalties.
In this case, QatarEnergy is informing affected buyers that it cannot fulfill certain supply commitments due to the situation.
For global energy markets, this is something to watch closely. Qatar plays a huge role in LNG supply, so any disruption naturally gets attention fast.
