QatarEnergy lowers fuel prices for January 2026 with cuts to petrol and diesel, offering motorists more affordable fuel at the start of the year.
QatarEnergy has announced a reduction in fuel prices for the month of January 2026, as part of the state’s monthly pricing update for petrol and diesel products. The adjustments, revealed on December 31, 2025, signal more affordable fuel costs for motorists across the country at the start of the new year.

Under the new pricing schedule, Premium-grade petrol (91) will be priced at QAR 1.95 per litre, while Super petrol (95) will cost QAR 2 per litre throughout January. Diesel prices have also been lowered, with the new rate set at QAR 2 per litre — a decrease compared with rates in December 2025.
The downward adjustment reflects QatarEnergy’s regular review of fuel costs, which are influenced by global oil market trends and domestic pricing policies. The move is expected to provide some relief to drivers and fleet operators, helping reduce overall transportation expenses as the year begins.
Qatar’s fuel pricing structure typically sees updates at the end of each month, ensuring that retail rates align with changes in international energy markets. The latest reduction continues a trend of periodic adjustments and underscores the state’s ongoing management of energy prices in response to shifting market conditions.
With these cuts taking effect on January 1, 2026, Qatar joins other Gulf states in periodically revising fuel prices to support consumers and reflect broader market dynamics.
