Traveling between Qatar and Bahrain just got way easier. A brand-new ferry service now links Al-Ruwais Port in northern Qatar to Sa’ada Marina in Bahrain, cutting travel time to just 70 to 80 minutes. The route spans about 35 nautical miles (65 km), and it’s designed to make hopping between GCC countries a breeze.
For Now, GCC Citizens Only
At launch, the ferry is open exclusively to GCC citizens. From November 7 to 12, expect two round trips daily, increasing to three daily round trips starting November 13. Schedules might adjust later depending on how many passengers climb aboard.
A Symbol of Stronger Ties
Qatar’s Minister of Transport, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani, called the launch a “groundbreaking step” that highlights the strong bond between the two countries. It’s not just about travel — it’s about strengthening cooperation and economic unity across the GCC.
Book Easily, Ride Comfortably
Booking is super simple — just use the MASAR app. You can choose between standard or VIP vessels, seating 28 and 32 passengers respectively. Each trip follows strict customs and security checks, and both Qatar and Bahrain ensured top-notch safety and service standards for a smooth ride.
