Pregnant Crabs Are Protected All Year Long
And that’s not all—fishing for pregnant blue crabs carrying eggs is off-limits 24/7, 365 days a year. No matter the month, they’re strictly protected.
Why the Ban? Think Sustainability
It’s not just a random rule. The goal is to keep Qatar’s marine resources healthy and thriving. By protecting the blue crab population during key periods, the ministry hopes to preserve the ecosystem for the long haul.
