The Law Behind the Ban
This ban is backed by Qatar’s Consumer Protection Law No. 8 of 2008. In short:
-
If a car doesn’t match standard specs, the seller must repair, replace, or refund it.
-
Selling or promoting “spoiled” goods—aka cars that fail standards—is prohibited.
-
Sellers must guarantee all goods meet approved specs.
