The second leg of H.H. The Father Amir’s Prix 2026, a signature event of the Doha Equestrian Tour, opened today at Al Shaqab Equestrian Centre, bringing together more than 240 riders from across the globe to vie for a share of the substantial prize purse exceeding €3.3 million.
Running from January 8 to 10, Tour 2 of the series follows the initial three-day competition earlier in the month and marks another thrilling chapter in what has quickly become a highlight of the international equestrian calendar.
World-Class Competition at Al Shaqab
The three-day programme features a full schedule of showjumping classes across multiple arenas at Al Shaqab, including CSI5*, CSI3* and other ranked events. Riders will compete in a range of heights and formats, culminating in Grand Prix classes on the final day.
Action gets underway each morning, with competition staged across the Longines Outdoor Arena, Longines Indoor Arena and the Second Outdoor Arena, showcasing elite athleticism from both seasoned professionals and rising stars.
The series’ structure reflects a commitment to high-performance sport, with the inclusion of Six Bars classes and higher-level showjumping formats designed to challenge riders and horses alike.
A Prestigious Start to the Season
Tour 1 of H.H. The Father Amir’s Prix, held earlier this week, saw standout performances from some of the world’s top riders. British showjumper Harry Charles clinched victory in the CSI4 1.55m Grand Prix*, while other competitors from Qatar and beyond posted impressive results across the event’s varied classes.
Organisers of the Doha Equestrian Tour have emphasised the event’s role in elevating the sport regionally and internationally, with Al Shaqab once again serving as a world-class venue that attracts elite equestrian talent.
Spectators can expect high-stakes competition, vibrant atmosphere and displays of exceptional horsemanship as the event progresses through Saturday’s finale.
H.H. The Father Amir’s Prix continues to provide a platform for athletes to demonstrate skill, precision and competitive spirit, contributing to Doha’s growing reputation as a premier destination for international equestrian sport.
