Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg and Irish actor Liam Cunningham have joined other renowned personalities to set sail on the Freedom Flotilla's 'Madleen' on Sunday, June 1, which is set to deliver aid to Gaza.
This is not the first attempt made by the Freedom Flotilla organization to send aid vessels to Gaza.
The organization has been sending vessels containing humanitarian aid to Gaza for more than a decade, simultaneously facing resistance from Israel.
In April this year, one of the organization's ships was hit by an armed drone, however, Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attack.
The latest expedition set sail from Sicily. Other than Thunberg and Cunningham, the 11 volunteers on Madleen are:
- Baptiste Andre 🇫🇷

- Pascal Maurieras 🇫🇷
- Reva Viard 🇫🇷
- Rima Hassan 🇫🇷
- Sergio Toribio 🇪🇸
- Thiago Ávila 🇧🇷
