Grand Mall to Open Its Sixth Hypermarket at Crown Plaza

Senior business officials revealed at a media conference held on May 23, 2022 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Doha that Grand Mall will open its sixth hypermarket in Mekaines, Qatar on Wednesday, May 25th, 2022.

In the presence of Mr. Ashraf Cherakkal, Regional Director, Mr. David Ford, COO (Bin Yousef Group JV Partner), Mr. Mohamed NV, Director, Mr. Ajith Kumar, General Manager, and other team members, Dr. Anwar Ameen Chelat, Managing Director, announced the decision to the media regarding the opening of the new Grand Mall on May 25, 2022 at Mekaines.

The expansion strategy of the Grand Mall Group maintains Qatar's position as a preferred destination for expatriates and tourists. The group's sixth store, ideally placed in Mekaines, Exit 37 Salwa Expressway, which leads to Abu Samra, is easily accessible. With enough convenient parking, this new store, which spans 55,000 square feet, will be the favorite destination for surrounding residents as well as Saudi-Doha transport users.

"Our consumers' support justifies our phrase 'Grand Shopping, Great Values,' which has been our credo since Grand Mall's inception," Dr. Ameen said. Our customers will always have a high-class shopping experience thanks to our postmodern approach to shopping and worldwide standards. We believe we are Qatar's preferred shopping destination because we provide products at competitive prices.

The Managing Director discussed Grand Mall Hypermarkets' health and hygiene practices, particularly during the Covid-19 Pandemic. "While the pandemic impacted both retailers and consumers, we prioritized the needs of people and residents." We didn't let the crisis prevent us from meeting our clients' needs. After multiple pilot tests, we were able to ensure health, safety, and hygiene criteria. By establishing innovative foodstuff packaging facilities in all regions to supply touch-free, high-quality eatables, lentils, spices, and other products, we built a sanitized, hygienic technique of delivering products."

Dr. Ameen expressed gratitude to the government and local authorities for their assistance. "The initiatives and policies of the Qatari government have aided us in strengthening our economic ties in many countries."

Dr. Ameen reaffirmed Grand Group's global partnership approach with partners. "Done by local producers and businesses helps us stay true to our core values." We have our own dedicated sourcing staff with offices in several locations. We also have a dedicated team that purchases things directly from farms on a daily basis. As responsible retailers, we recognize our responsibility to create a merchandising entity that allows local producers to prosper. This allows us to focus on boosting traditional retailing. We want to promote sustainable retailing that benefits both employees and the community.

Dr. Ameen outlined the Grand's massive development plans in Qatar for the next five years. This year, three additional stores will open in Al Aziziya, Umm Garn, and Umm Al Amad, providing more service to our valued clients as well as new work possibilities for expatriates and residents.
