US President Donald Trump warned that the United States could launch severe military strikes against Iran, escalating tensions in an already volatile Middle East conflict.
In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump said Tehran would face significant military consequences.
“Today Iran will be hit very hard!” Trump wrote.
Trump accuses Iran of regional aggression
In the post, Trump criticised Iran’s conduct in the region, citing what he described as the country’s “bad behavior” and warning of broader military action.
He also claimed Iran had apologised to neighbouring Middle Eastern countries and promised to halt attacks against them following pressure from the United States and Israel.
“Iran, which is being beat to HELL, has apologized and surrendered to its Middle East neighbors, and promised that it will not shoot at them anymore,” Trump wrote.
The US president further argued that the pledge came only after sustained military pressure from Washington and its allies.
“This promise was only made because of the relentless U.S. and Israeli attack,” he said.
