New artwork by Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson, named "The Curious Desert", has created a buzz in Qatar, as it highlights the issues of climate change.

Located in Qatar's Al-Thakhira Mangrove Reserve, the new installation includes a 12-site-specific set that highlights the issues of climate change.
Each station is composed of a circular structure and lined with fabric that flaps in the wind. They incorporate elements of the natural environment such as black, shiny obsidian.
The artist's temporary pavilions glisten in the desert sunlight and interact with natural phenomena such as wind, sun, and sand.
This is considered Eliason's first-ever solo exhibition in the Gulf region, taking place within the desert landscape.
His artworks aim to create a dialogue about the fragility of the environment and the impact of the climate crisis.
"The works respond to the desert and to nature but also ourselves within that relationship as well," Eliasson told Arab News.
