Max Verstappen secured a crucial victory at the Qatar Grand Prix, to ensure the Formula 1 title race will go to next weekend’s season finale in Abu Dhabi.

The Red Bull driver delivered a commanding performance, finishing ahead of Oscar Piastri, while championship leader Lando Norris crossed the line in fourth.

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz completed the podium in third, capitalizing on McLaren’s costly strategic errors.

Norris’ Lead Shrinks to 12 Points

The championship picture tightened significantly after Norris and McLaren teammate Piastri misjudged their strategy during a safety car period, failing to pit for fresh tyres. When Norris eventually pitted, he rejoined the race in fifth before overtaking Kimi Antonelli to finish fourth.

The result cuts Norris’ advantage to 12 points, keeping all three contenders — Norris, Piastri, and Verstappen — in the hunt for the drivers’ world championship.

All Eyes on Abu Dhabi Finale

With just one race left and everything still to play for, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is set to host one of the most dramatic title showdowns in recent F1 history.

Verstappen’s win in Qatar marks a decisive shift in momentum, while Norris and Piastri will need flawless execution in the UAE to keep their title hopes alive.
