F1: McLaren Wins Constructors Championship for 2025
McLaren Clinches 2025 F1 Constructors’ Title After Singapore Showdown
In a dramatic night race at the Singapore Grand Prix, McLaren sealed the 2025 Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship, confirming their dominance in the team standings.
The occasion coincided with a commanding victory by George Russell (Mercedes), who led from pole to flag under the Marina Bay lights.
Russell’s flawless performance left no doubt at the front, but much of the intrigue lay behind him. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen held second, while McLaren’s Lando Norris claimed third—after a tense first-lap tussle with teammate Oscar Piastri. Piastri finished fourth, and his radio messages after the opening corner moved quickly into post-race debate.
Thanks to the combined 27 points from Norris and Piastri, McLaren clinched the constructors’ crown with six races to spare. This marks McLaren’s second consecutive title and their 10th in history, positioning them as the second most successful team in F1 behind Ferrari.
The 2025 season has been a showcase of McLaren’s consistency and strength—winning 12 of 18 races, producing seven 1–2 finishes, and maintaining podium presence in nearly every race outside Canada and Azerbaijan. By clinching the title in Singapore, they matched Red Bull’s record for the earliest constructors’ clinch.
Yet even amid the celebrations, tension has simmered. The intra-team collision between Norris and Piastri at turn one raised questions about McLaren’s driver management under pressure. Piastri’s complaints—“That’s not fair”—echoed the delicate balance McLaren must maintain in a title fight featuring two high-stakes contenders.
Still, the team’s broader narrative is one of resurgence and ambition. After ending a 26-year constructors’ drought with their 2024 title, McLaren’s back-to-back success now cements their return to the top tier. As the 2025 season continues and the drivers’ battle evolves, the impact of this constructors’ win reverberates far beyond Singapore’s street circuit.
