The MotoGP legend stormed to his fourth Sprint Race victory of the 2025 season on Saturday at the Qatar Airways Grand Prix, cruising across the Lusail International Circuit in 20 minutes, 38.304 seconds — and reclaiming the championship lead from none other than his brother, Alex Marquez.

From the jump, Marc showed no signs of pressure. Starting on pole, the front row held firm into Turn 1, but it was clear he wasn’t here to play — just slay. By the closing laps, the Spaniard was flying solo, stretching his lead to over 1.5 seconds.

Alex Marquez couldn’t quite catch up and settled for second, 1.577 seconds adrift. Still, a family affair on the podium? Kinda wholesome.

Franco Morbidelli brought the real drama, muscling his VR46 Ducati into third after an intense final-lap scrap for the podium, marking the first time we’ve seen a fresh face on the rostrum this season.

Behind the top three, Fermin Aldeguer delivered a standout performance to grab fourth, ahead of Fabio Quartararo in fifth. Fabio Di Giannantonio took sixth, comfortably ahead of Ai Ogura in seventh.

It wasn’t smooth sailing for everyone, though. Francesco Bagnaia faded early, passed in quick succession by both Ogura and Jorge Martin. And Johann Zarco of LCR Honda? The only retirement of the race, pulling out on lap 9 due to rear tyre issues.

Meanwhile, Factory Honda’s Joan Mir didn’t line up on the grid at all — illness kept him sidelined, with Sunday’s participation still uncertain.

But all eyes were on Marc, who’s now the undisputed Sprint king. Four wins out of four? Not bad for a guy people said was past his prime.

MotoGP fans, buckle up — this season just got way more interesting.
