DFI's 'Voices of Palestine' to Feature 9 Palestinian Films

Doha Film Institute's series 'Voices from Palestine' will run from Nov. 2 to Nov. 9 and this film series will be screened at Katara, Building 16, Drama Theater. 

Entry to the film screening will be free, but the visitors need to reserve a ticket for admission.

Here Are the Nine Films That Will Feature in 'Voices of Palestine':

The Time That Remains

The film will be screened on Nov. 2 at 8:00 p.m.

This is a semi-autobiographical film, which is directed by the Palestinian director Elia Suleiman. 

The film shows a gunsmith who witnesses the destruction of Nazareth in 1948 by the Israeli occupation. His son grows up to be rebellious towards the occupation.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker.

My Love Awaits Me By the Sea

The film will be screened on Nov. 3 at 4:00 p.m. 

The film is directed by Mais Darwazah and it features a woman's journey back to her homeland Palestine with her imaginary lover Hassan. 

The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker. 

Divine Intervention

The film will be screened on Nov. 3 at 8:00 p.m.

This film is also directed by Elia Suleiman. 'Divine Intervention' is the story of two Palestinian lovers from Jerusalem and Ramallah who are separated by checkpoints. 

The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker. 

3000 Nights

The film will be screened on Nov. 4 at 4:00 p.m.

The film is directed by Mai Masri and highlights the story of a Palestinian woman who gives birth to her son and raises him in an Israeli prison. 

The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker. 

The Roof

The film will be screened on Nov. 4 at 8:00 p.m.

'The Roof' is directed by Kamal Aljafari and it features the unfinished home of the Aljafari family, where they resettled in 1948.

The film screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker. 

Dégradé

The film will be screened on Nov. 5 at 7:00 p.m.

'Dégradé' follows a story about two hairdressers and their ten customers who get trapped in a beauty salon in Gaza as the Hamas forces fight a gang in the street.

The film screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker. 

Little Palestine: Diary of a Seige

The documentary will be screened on Nov. 6 at 7:00 p.m.

The documentary is directed by Abdallah Al-Katib and follows the story of Yarmouk, the largest Palestinian refugee camp, when it was besieged by the Assad regime. 

The film screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker. 

200 Meters

The documentary will be screened on Nov. 7 at 7:00 p.m.

It will also be screened on Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m.

'200 Meters' is a story about a Palestinian father who is trapped on the other side of the separation wall and struggles to reach the hospital for his son.

The film screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker. 

Wajib

The film will be screened on Nov. 8 at 7:00 p.m.

'Wajib' features a road trip of a father and son during wedding preparation in the lead-up to Christmas in Nazareth. 

The film screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker.
