Doha Film Institute's (DFI) Qumra programme, featuring international actors and filmmakers, will take place in Doha from Mar. 1 to Mar. 6.

Eight feature films, made with support from the DFI, from the Middle East and beyond will be screened at Qumra.

In addition to these film screenings, a group of six filmmakers will host masterclasses where they will provide insight into the art of filmmaking to attending filmmakers, industry professionals, and audiences. 

The filmmakers, the Qumra Masters, who will host these master classes are:

Toni Collette

Australian actress and producer Toni Collette, who has won a Golden Globe and Emmy for her work, will host a Qumra masterclass. 

Atom Egoyan 

Atom Egoyan is a Canadian writer and producer who is well-known for his film 'The Sweet Hereafter', which received two Oscar nominations. 

Claire Denis 

Claire Denis is a French director and screenwriter who won the Grand Prix at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival with Lukas Dhont. 

Jim Sheridan

 

Jim Sheridan is an Irish playwright and producer who has produced various critically acclaimed films set in Ireland, for which he has received three Oscar nominations. 

Leos Carax

Leos Carax is a French film director and writer who won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Director at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival.

Martin Hernández

Martin Hernández is a Mexican sound editor and designer who received two Oscar nominations for his work in 'Birdman' and 'The Revenant' and a BAFTA Award for the latter.
