Palestinian filmmakers Tarzan and Arab Nasser captivated audiences at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival with their latest feature, Once Upon a Time in Gaza, earning a resounding standing ovation during its Un Certain Regard screening.

Set in 2007 Gaza, the film follows Yahya, a timid student, and Osama, a charismatic falafel vendor, who are forced to deal with an egoistic, corrupt cop.

The Nasser brothers, known for their poignant storytelling, previously showcased Dégradé at Cannes in 2015 and Gaza Mon Amour, which was Palestine's submission to the 2021 Academy Awards.

Their return to Cannes with Once Upon a Time in Gaza underscores their commitment to portraying life in Gaza through a lens that blends dark humor with socio-political commentary.
