Conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk was shot during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. He was rushed to the hospital but later died at the age of 31. Police quickly locked down the campus, evacuating people building by building while searching for the shooter.
Manhunt Still On
Authorities say no suspect has been caught yet. Two people who were initially taken in for questioning have since been cleared and released. A full-scale manhunt is now underway.
Trump Reacts
Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to share condolences, calling Kirk “great, and even legendary,” adding that he “was loved and admired by ALL, especially me.” Trump extended sympathies to Kirk’s wife Erika and his family.
FBI Joins the Case
The FBI confirmed its Salt Lake City field office is fully involved in the investigation. In a statement, the agency said it has “full resources devoted,” including tactical, operational, and intelligence teams, working side by side with Utah state authorities.
