Six of Seven Missing in Helicopter Crash Found Dead

Six of the seven people reported missing after a helicopter crash in Qatar’s territorial waters have been found dead, authorities confirmed, as search efforts continue for the final missing individual.

The helicopter went down during a routine mission after suffering a technical malfunction, according to Qatar’s Ministry of Defence. Rescue teams were immediately deployed to the crash site, launching an extensive search and recovery operation.

Officials later confirmed that seven people were on board the aircraft. The bodies of six crew members have since been recovered, while one person remains unaccounted for.

The operation is being led by specialised maritime rescue units, including teams from the General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security and the Internal Security Force. Authorities have not released the identities of those on board.

There is currently no indication that the crash was linked to any external or hostile activity. Officials have reiterated that the incident appears to have been caused by a technical fault during routine duty.

Investigations into the exact cause of the malfunction are expected to begin once recovery operations are complete. The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions, although authorities have not connected to the broader geopolitical situation.

Search efforts remain ongoing as emergency teams continue to comb the waters for the final missing crew member.
