Doha Film Institute Reveals Qumra Masters for 2026
Qumra 2026 brings masterclasses with global cinema icons and curated screenings; passes now available online starting at 35 QAR.

The Doha Film Institute has announced this year’s Qumra Masters lineup as part of the Qumra 2026 public programme, taking place March 27 to April 1 at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha.
The announcement highlights a distinguished roster of film luminaries who will lead Qumra Master Classes, offering emerging filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts a rare opportunity to learn directly from some of the world’s most influential voices in filmmaking. The 2026 Qumra Masters include:
- Gael García Bernal – internationally acclaimed actor and producer
- Diego Luna – actor, director and producer known for his work in international cinema
- Alice Diop – award-winning French filmmaker
- Gustavo Santaolalla – two-time Academy Award-winning composer and musician
- Faouzi Bensaïdi – Moroccan director and artist celebrated for his diverse cinematic work
Master Classes & Screenings
The Qumra Master Classes are designed to demystify the creative process, with each session offering insight into the craft, context and conversations that shape contemporary cinema. These sessions allow participants to engage with the masters’ creative journeys — from concept to screen — and explore storytelling techniques across genres.

In addition to masterclasses, Qumra 2026 will also present curated screenings of compelling films from around the world, spotlighting original voices in cinema and offering audiences a broad cinematic experience from diverse cultural perspectives.
Passes & Ticket Details
Tickets and passes for Qumra 2026 can be purchased online through the Doha Film Institute website.
Qumra Pass (in-person, full access):
- 500 QAR – Standard
- 350 QAR – Student price (30 % off)
This pass provides in-person access to all Master Classes and all screenings during the programme.
Screenings Only:
- 35 QAR per screening
- 28 QAR – Student price
Individual screening tickets allow audiences to attend select film presentations without a full pass.
Pass applications opened on February 11 and will close March 20, with capacity limited and passes issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
